During the week of March 20-24, 2017, Vernon Middle School students will conduct student-led conferences with their parents/guardians. Students will present their current academic performance and evaluate their learning in each subject area. This is a big change from the usual conference in which the child’s progress is discussed by the parent and the teacher. In student-led conferences, students take ownership of their work, accomplishments, and plans for change or improvement. In preparation for the conference, students will linger over their learning, thinking about what they have learned, how they improved, and on what they still need to do. Your student has been working hard to on his or her portfolio and has been practicing reflective and academic conversations in preparation for his/her time with you. Please make it a priority to attend the conference and to celebrate the learning and hard work that your student has accomplished during this grading quarter at Vernon.
Dismissal is at 12:50 each day during conference week
